About the product

Fresh parsley is one of Egypt's key exported leafy herbs, with dark green leaves, a strong aroma and tender stems. It is hand-harvested, bunched in the field and cooled immediately to preserve freshness and colour.

Grown in the Delta, Nubaria and Ismailia year-round, with the highest quality in the cooler months. Clean irrigation water and integrated pest management ensure minimal residues.

Varieties, sizes & grades

Flat-leaf (Italian) parsley, the most demanded for export, and curly parsley for garnish. 50–100 g retail bunches and 250–500 g wholesale bunches with 25–35 cm stems.

The product is available year-round, with peak quality and volumes during October – April. Weekly supply programmes are agreed with the buyer before the season to secure the required volumes and sizes, with forward contracting available for the busiest windows.

Bunches tied with rubber bands or sleeved in perforated film, in 2–5 kg film-lined cartons to retain moisture. Modified-atmosphere bags (MAP) for longer transit.

Rapid cooling to 1–2 °C right after harvest, then storage at 0–2 °C and 95–98% humidity away from ethylene sources. Shelf life is 10–14 days, shipped by air or by sea under modified atmosphere.
